Joel came home in second place in his first-ever international single-seater race, scoring a podium from tenth on the grid as Fortec Motorsport clinched a 1-2 in the British F4 season-opener at Thruxton on Saturday.
“What a start to the season! I’m so happy right now. It was a wet/dry race and we opted for slicks, which proved the right thing to do, so good job team. I was able to pick my way through the traffic, overtaking five cars in one move at one stage, and came close to chasing down James (Hedley) on the final lap. I’m thrilled with P2 in my first race here in Britain and we’ll go for it again tomorrow.”
