Joel stormed to the top of the timesheets in Friday’s final practice session for the British F4 round at Knockhill, setting himself up perfectly for qualifying.
Leading the way with a 49.342s lap, Joel headed the tightly-packed opposition by 0.035s as he narrowly fended off Argenti pair Matias Zagazeta and Aiden Neate.
Coming up next this weekend is the crucial qualifying session, which will set the grid for all three races of the meeting. Qualifying takes place on Saturday.
“It’s obviously nice to set the pace, very happy with that,” says Joel. “It was another good, smooth session, and it definitely seems the changes we’ve made recently are working. I think there was even a bit more in it; I was the only one in the top five to not run four new tyres, so it’s looking pretty good. It’s a nice boost for everyone heading into qualifying tomorrow, knowing we can definitely be up there and fight for it.”
